Pricing Policy
How a price is arrived at, why it is not the boutique price, and why it does not move much.
How we price
Every price is set piece by piece, by the person who authenticated it. Four things decide it: what the house currently charges for the same reference, what the piece is actually like in the hand, how many of them exist, and what we paid.
There is no algorithm and no dynamic pricing. The price you see is not calculated from your location, your device, or how many times you have looked at the page.
Against boutique retail
Where a piece is still in production and available from the house, we show what the house charges alongside our price, so the comparison is on the page rather than in your head. Where a piece is discontinued, there is no boutique price to compare against and we do not invent one.
A discontinued piece in exceptional condition can be worth more than it originally retailed for. We price those at what they are worth, not at what they cost in 2016.
VAT and your region
Prices include UK VAT at 20%. Set your region and the price adjusts: VAT is removed for destinations outside the UK, and where we ship on delivered-duty-paid terms the local import charges are added back in, so the number on the product page is the number you pay.
When prices change
Rarely, and in one direction more often than the other. We do not run flash sales, we do not raise a price before a sale to discount it afterwards, and a piece in the sale is a piece we have decided to move on, not a piece we have repriced for a weekend.
If a piece you bought is reduced within fourteen days of your order, tell us and we will refund the difference. After fourteen days, the returns window has closed and so has this.
